At Tailored Footcare, Amanda provides the following
specialist diagnostic and assessment services:
- Diabetic foot assessment to determine the level of risk associated with developing foot ulcerations. Advice will be given and treatment options discussed to prevent further complications and manage existing issues. The diabetic foot screen will involve assessing sensation, circulation, noting foot deformities (e.g. bunions, hammer toes) and identifying areas of high pressure (using RS Scan pressure plate). A report will be provided stating the risk level and findings noted
- Circulation assessment to diagnose if there is reduced blood flow to the feet. Advice and a report with the findings will be provided
- Foot injury risk assessment to determine if one or more parts of the foot are experiencing abnormally higher loads
- Test to determine if a fungal nail and/or skin infection is present. The test can be carried out during a routine appointment. Treatment options can be discussed and provided to tackle the fungal infection; Lacuna (drilling microholes to allow antifungal medicaments to reach the nail bed) is one of the treatment options that will be discussed
